TRG BUILD SHARE

A Set-Sharing Partnership for Brands

GAIN ACCESS TO CUSTOM-BUILT SETS WITH OUR COOPERATIVE BRAND PARTNERSHIPS

Through our Build Share Program, TRG coordinates a group of complementary brands to contribute items and materials for custom and semi-custom set builds. In turn, these complementary brands share the cost of labor for an efficient price. While one primary brand will initiate this effort, TRG will invite 3-5 brands to join the project. This build share effort will help offset construction costs and give each participant the opportunity to create assets within the set. TRG will coordinate and manage project participation in this program for no additional cost.

IN EXCHANGE FOR CONTRIBUTING MATERIALS, BRANDS WILL GET INDIVIDUAL TIME ON SET.

Adapted from the process that many brands use for trade shows, each partner vendor will provide their products at no charge to the Build Share set. In return for use of materials or products, each partner will receive a designated amount of time on set where the TRG team will create unique still photography and/or video assets for each brand at a discounted expense.

SHARING CONSTRUCTION, LABOR AND CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT COSTS IS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE AFFORDABLE

While a custom designed and constructed set, using a kitchen as an example, could typically cost $35 to $65K, a Build Share set reduced those costs significantly by sharing them between the brands.

While the final cost of participation depends on the number of partners and number of requested final deliverables, brands can expect to spend 30-60% less on a shared set versus a completely customized build.

TRG WILL CREATE UNIQUE ASSETS FOR EACH PARTICIPANT WITHOUT COMPROMISING ARTIST

In the terms of each Build Share, priority will be given to the specifications and objectives set forth by the primary client. For example, TRG will develop a detailed shot list designating the types of shots and angles that each partner vendor will receive. The set plan will include design and styling direction, including paint swatches, fabric samples, and product selections etc. so each brand can request proper materials prior to the shoot.

The TRG team will adjust the storytelling elements, including lighting, prop colors and styling, before each brand shoot to differentiate and showcase each brand accordingly. By redressing the scene between shoots, TRG can ensure each image will be original in appearance—masking the fact that they were taken within the same set.

BUILDING SETS, EXPOSURE AND LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS

Beyond cost efficiencies, there are long-term advantages of participating in the TRG Build Share Program. Build share set builds can help establish new relationships within the home goods industry and set the stage for additional collaborative opportunities, such as trade shows, in-store merchandising and displays, promotional partnerships and more.

Plus, each participant will gain additional exposure as each partner utilizes their assets. For example, potential customers may see a product—such as a faucet, appliance or countertop—in a specific room image and reach out to the brand or site, such as Wayfair or Houzz, to inquire about that specific product resulting in auxiliary exposures outside of an established customer base.

AMPLIFY YOUR BRAND EXPOSURE WITH A BUILD SHARE EXPERIENCE

While each opportunity varies slightly, brands can request deliverables that include:

  • Photography
  • Video
  • GIFs
  • Talent (rates to be negotiated)
  • Food styling
  • Retouching services
  • Editing services

FAQ

Will I know what the other brands are in my Build Share?

Yes. Upon engagement, each partner will be transparent to ensure there are no conflicts of any kind. Each brand will be required to sign a simple confidentiality agreement and a hero brand content embargo to ensure individual assets are protected.

How many products would be included?

Depending on each brand, for example appliances versus cookware, TRG will coordinate with each brand the amount and type of products that the custom set can accommodate.

What happens to my products after the shoot?

TRG can either return products to your provided address, store them for up to 6 months or donate them. For legacy product storage, you can give TRG permission to utilize your products as props for general brand sets for additional exposure.

How far in advance will I have to prepare for this opportunity—both for product delivery and budget?

From the time TRG contacts you to gauge interest through the actual set construction ranges from 4 to 8 weeks. Each participant will be billed upon completion of the shoot.

What happens if my product doesn’t arrive on time?

If the product is essential to the build, such as flooring, lighting, appliances, etc. TRG will do our best to adjust the schedule accordingly. However, we can only hold the set for a limited amount of time. If the delay is significant, the brand may have to forfeit their time in that set and TRG will try to work you into another set to achieve a similar number of images or footage.

When will I see the plans for the set? Can I be on site or livestream the shoot?

TRG will provide each brand with a design plan for review during the engagement process and upon completion of the set build. Once a brand signs on as a Build Share partner, the team will have a one-on-one meeting to review specific brand guidelines and preferences. To ensure the most efficient building and shoot days, we will use that preliminary input to guide art direction and encourage clientsto be active and available during shoot days whether in person or livestream.

How can I be sure my images are unique compared with the other partner brands?

TRG stylists and shooters will alter props and camera angles to ensure each set of brand assets are unique and product focused as requested.

Can I shoot photo and video?

TRG is happy to provide both services if requested and scheduled ahead of time. To efficiently accommodate additional equipment and staff, TRG reserves the right to adjust the participation fees for extended studio time and staffing.

What if I want to include food in my images?

We are happy to accommodate this request. Pending complexity, additional fees may be required for specialty stylists.

Can I share my brand guidelines?

Yes, of course. We encourage each brand to provide as much input as possible prior to the set construction and styling. However, in a build share, we are basing the overall appearance on the specifications of our primary brand. The TRG team will make every effort to adjust propping, colors and lighting so that they adhere to pre-determined brand standards and ensure unique assets for each brand.

What if I don’t love the set design? Can I request a paint or set modification change?

Build share is based on a pre-approved design from the primary brand. If you are not interested in collaborating based on the design we will consider you for future projects.

How will I be invoiced?

We will invoice each brand upon completion of deliverables.

Can I reshoot?

Yes. For an additional cost and pending set and studio availability. If content requirements change, we will do our best to accommodate additional shooting time.
